 ડાયોડ એ એક સેમીકન્ડક્ટર ઉપકરણ છે, જે currentને માત્ર એક દિશામાં જ પસાર થવા દે છે.




1️⃣ Normal / Standard Diode (PN Junction Diode)

પરિભાષા: Basic diode, current only forward biased direction માં જાય છે

Structure: P-type અને N-type semiconductor

Symbol:

Use: Rectification (AC → DC), Basic circuits


2️⃣ Special Diodes

2.1 Zener Diode

પરિભાષા: Reverse biased માં stable voltage provide કરે છે

Use: Voltage regulation, voltage reference

Symbol:

Key Feature: Allows current in reverse direction if voltage exceeds Zener voltage


2.2 LED (Light Emitting Diode)

પરિભાષા: Forward biased current પર light emits કરે છે

Use: Indicator lights, displays, lighting

Symbol:

2.3 Schottky Diode

પરિભાષા: Low forward voltage drop (0.2–0.3V), fast switching

Use: High-speed circuits, power rectification

Symbol: Similar to normal diode with ‘S’ notation


2.4 Photodiode

પરિભાષા: Light sensitive diode, generates current when illuminated

Use: Light sensors, IR detection

Symbol:

2.5 Varactor / Varicap Diode

પરિભાષા: Reverse biased voltage પર capacitance change થાય છે

Use: Tuning circuits, RF circuits

Symbol:

2.6 Tunnel Diode

પરિભાષા: Very fast switching diode, negative resistance property

Use: Oscillator, microwave circuits
